In the first step the geometry of the structure to be calculated is meshed with finite elements. This can be done automatically or semi-manually. We always create our FE-meshes semi-manually, so that the element quality meets our own demands for accuracy at all times. With automatic meshing, as is often possible with classic CAD programs, the element quality cannot be fully controlled.
In the second step, the boundary conditions and material properties are defined. Aspects such as the installation situation, possible interactions with the environment and stiffness of the bearing in the calculation model must be taken into account.
In the third step, the stresses are evaluated. Required safety factors and coefficients as well as application-specific evaluation methods are applied. The result is a statement regarding the strength of the examined construction.
